Program Description:
In this two-day project, you will design and create a unique sculptural vessel by combining various types of wood and shapes. Following a structured procedure, you will learn essential woodworking techniques, including precise gluing, sculpting, and finishing. Through this hands-on process, you will explore form and craftsmanship, transforming raw materials into a beautifully refined piece. By the end of the project, you will have a one-of-a-kind wooden vessel showcasing your creativity and technical skill.
Learning Objectives:
Learn foundational design principles and design your own unique piece
Learn how to properly select wood for your project
Learn precise glue up technique
Learn how to properly use a table saw to cut wood to size
Learn how to properly use a bandsaw to cut unique shapes
Learn how to use a spindle sander, edge belt sander and random orbital sander to shape your piece
Learn how to finish your piece with different wood finishes
Attendance Requirements: Students must attend all days
