Central Ohio Woodturners

Central Ohio Woodturners is all about woodturning. If you would like to know more about that, the best way is to find one of our low-cost membership packages and join us.

The Central Ohio Woodturners (AKA, "COW") is organized with the fundamental purpose of providing Information, Education, and Organization to those interested in turning wood.  Additionally, the COW's purposes are:

  1. Providing a meeting location for woodturners.

  2. Sharing ideas regarding woodturning including lathes, tools, turning materials, turning techniques, and design of turned objects.

  3. Exchanging wood and other woodturning materials.

  4. Informing members about activities of interest to woodturning.

  5. Promoting woodturning as an art form and craft.

  6. Assisting other charities with fundraising efforts by contributing woodturnings for auction or sale.

Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners

The Central Ohio Woodturners is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. We have a membership of about 200 enthusiastic woodturners, and we have monthly meetings where we exchange ideas, share projects, and learn from local, national, and international demonstrators.

We have two opportunities each month for you to learn more:

  1. Our traditional meeting normally has a featured demonstration, show and tell, swap and shop, and a 50/50 raffle.  This is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, September - May, and we meet at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (4383 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH).

  2. We also have a mentoring session designed for those still looking at the basics.  This is held on the 3rd Saturday of most months, September - May.  The location is fluid at this time.  Check "Events" for updates.  We don't have this scheduled in December or May.
